Sunday Worship

At least through the end of July we are moving our regular 10:00am Sunday worship gathering online meeting via Zoom and Facebook Live. We will sing, we will pray, we will read scripture, we will even share communion (you will need your own bread and wine/grape juice!).

Make A Physically-Distanced Difference

1) Organize A Food Drive for DEAM

Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministries is one of our mission partners. They provide food, rent and utility assistance, and other services to people in need. Maybe you could organize a neighborhood, floor, or building food drive…or just grab a few items off their most needed list:

  • canned beef stew

  • canned beef ravioli

  • canned pinto beans

  • canned kidney beans

  • 1 lb. packages of white rice

  • sm. boxes jiffy corn muffin mix

  • powdered laundry detergent or pods

  • toilet paper

  • toothpaste

  • deodorant

  • bar soap

Drop off donations between 9am and noon any Wednesday and leave outside the door. Volunteers check regularly! DEAM is located on the lower level of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.) off Sycamore Place.

2) Make Sandwiches for Homeless Folks

Pastor Josh and Laura have helped pack sandwiches for this awesome group of Decatur folks who pass out lunches, water, and hygiene kits to homeless folks around Decatur. You can sign-up to help here.

2) Make Masks

We have some connections with local organizations that are in need of masks for homeless folks and foster families. If you are able to sew or produce masks, here are two templates: T-shirt masks or Sew mask.

Book Discussion Group

Wednesdays through July 29 at  7:00pm

Starting Wednesday, June 17 we're reading and discussing Robin DiAngelo's White Fragility. The book explores the counterproductive reactions white people have when their assumptions about race are challenged, and how these reactions maintain racial inequality.

We will meet weekly via Zoom starting June 17 from 7:00-8:00pm to discuss a few chapters (see schedule below) using questions from the reader guide.
