Kids at the Table

January 17 at 4:00pm at Common Table Decatur

Join us for Kids at the Table! We'll be outdoors and wearing masks while we share stories, songs and activities! We're excited to get to know your children and share these faith stories that help us live with hope, joy and justice during these anxious and unprecedented times. For more info, contact: Harriet Barger.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Reflection

January 18 from 1:00-3:00pm on Zoom

Our mission partner, Inspiritus, is hosting an online event to reflect on Dr. King's legacy and the racial unrest that has shaped the past year. This is a family-friendly event, with activities for all to enjoy! Register here.

Online Trivia Night

Friday, January 29 from 7:00-8:00pm on Zoom

Hang out with other Common Table folks online for 3 rounds of trivia and some time to connect. This will replace our monthly brewery nights while it's a bit cold to be outside! Grab some paper, a pencil, and join us online. Click for the zoom link.

Common Table Partner's Annual Meeting

January 31 following worship on Zoom (around 11:00am)

All partners (members) of Common Table Decatur are invited to a special meeting to celebrate the impact we had in 2020, discuss some important matters, elect leaders, and approve a mission spending plan for 2021. Anyone is welcome to attend but only partners can vote. If you would like to become a partner with Common Table Decatur, email Pastor Josh.

Cold Weather Survival Kits

This year, because of COVID, our friends at A Home For Everyone in Dekalb will not open a shelter but will be providing "survival kits" including blankets, sleeping bags, Marta cards, supper bags, and hygiene packs. We’ve heard that the most urgent need is for blankets, hand warmers, and women’s socks for these survival kits. If you’d like to buy some directly, they can be dropped off at the church office on Tuesdays or Thursdays or brought to one of our outdoor worship events.

You can donate or sign-up to participate with this project here:

Organize a Food Drive for DEAM

Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministries is one of our mission partners. They provide food, rent and utility assistance, and other services to people in need. Maybe you could organize a neighborhood, floor, or building food drive…or just grab a few items off their most needed list:

  • canned beef stew

  • canned chicken

  • canned pinto beans

  • canned kidney beans

  • canned mixed vegetables

  • canned green beans

  • chunky size soups (beef or chicken )

  • jelly (grape or strawberry)

  • 1 lb. packages of white rice

  • powdered laundry detergent or pods

  • shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant

  • cloth bags

Drop off donations between 9am and noon any Wednesday and leave outside the door. Volunteers check regularly! DEAM is located on the lower level of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.) off Sycamore Place.

Midweek Check-In

Every Wednesday at 12:30pm

Staying connected is good for your health! Join whenever you can. Each week we will take a 20-minute break in our days to check-in with each other, share a brief devotion, and lift up our joys and concerns as we connect with God in prayer. Dial: 770-274-6700, enter code: 465

Weekly Worship Gathering

Every Sunday at 10:00am

Gather with us every week to sing, pray, center ourselves for the week ahead, and share a meal around a common digital table. Because of the continuing risks of COVID-19 and out of love for others, we are continuing to gather online on Facebook and Zoom. When the weather warms up we hope to gather for an outdoor worship option as well.
