The heartbeat of Common Table Decatur is our Table Group communities. These groups are all unique in their focus but similar in their rhythms: taking time to connect in community, stay rooted in wisdom and spiritual practices, and engage in serving alongside our neighbors.
Helping Texas With Storm Relief
There are many organizations doing amazing things, including our national Lutheran Disaster Response. 100% of your donation to LDR goes directly to storm relief efforts (administrative costs are paid through other channels). Donate now.

Faith In Pandemic Virtual Retreat
Thursday, March 11
How are you doing one-year into the pandemic? No one expected it would go on this long. And we know keeping the faith has been a challenge in this time of uncertainty and fear. We want to invite you to join some amazing speakers for a special virtual retreat on Thursday, March 11. One Year Changed, Faith in Pandemic is a chance to ponder how we might be moved into a different sort of spirituality this Lent. Learn more and register for this free retreat here.
Cold Weather Survival Kits
This year, because of COVID, our friends at A Home For Everyone in Dekalb will not open a shelter but will be providing "survival kits" including blankets, sleeping bags, Marta cards, supper bags, and hygiene packs. We’ve heard that the most urgent need is for blankets, hand warmers, and women’s socks for these survival kits. If you’d like to buy some directly, they can be dropped off at the church office on Tuesdays or Thursdays or brought to one of our outdoor worship events.
You can donate or sign-up to participate with this project here:
Organize a Food Drive for DEAM
Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministries is one of our mission partners. They provide food, rent and utility assistance, and other services to people in need. Maybe you could organize a neighborhood, floor, or building food drive…or just grab a few items off their most needed list:
canned beef stew
canned pinto beans
canned kidney beans
canned mixed vegetables
canned green beans
chunky size soups (beef or chicken )
jelly (grape or strawberry)
1 lb. packages of white rice
powdered laundry detergent or pods
shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant
Drop off donations between 8:30am and 10:30am any Wednesday and leave outside the door. Volunteers check regularly! DEAM is located on the lower level of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.) off Sycamore Place.
Weekly Worship Gathering
Every Sunday at 10:00am
Gather with us every week to sing, pray, center ourselves for the week ahead, and share a meal around a common digital table. Because of the continuing risks of COVID-19 and out of love for others, we are continuing to gather online on Facebook and Zoom. When the weather warms up we hope to gather for an outdoor worship option as well.
